Reports from Aden indicate that a staggering amount of 300 million Saudi riyals are being transported monthly from Aden Airport to Jeddah Airport via Yemenia Airlines.
The coalition-backed Aden government is under scrutiny as approximately 73 million Saudi riyals belonging to the Agricultural Credit Bank and exchange companies were sent to Jeddah during the first week of May.
Concerns have been raised about leaders of coalition-affiliated armed factions withdrawing currencies from the Yemeni market and sending them to Saudi Arabia, contributing to a collapse of the local currency against foreign currencies in coalition-held areas like Aden.
This alarming situation, where a dollar equals 1,725 riyals in Aden, foreshadows a deepening living crisis for Yemeni citizens in these regions.
