In a united front against Myanmar’s military junta, National Unity Government (NUG) minister recently met with officials from various ethnic armed groups to urge the Japanese government to increase pressure on the regime. The NUG, formed by elected lawmakers ousted in the military coup earlier this year, has been actively working with ethnic armed organizations to resist the junta’s oppressive rule.

The minister’s plea to Japan comes at a critical time, as the junta’s grip on power continues to weaken amidst widespread civil disobedience and armed resistance. By rallying international support, including from Japan, the NUG aims to bolster its legitimacy and increase pressure on the illegitimate military regime.

The image above captures the unity and determination of the NUG minister and ethnic armed group officials as they stand together in solidarity against the junta. This powerful display of unity serves as a reminder that the fight for democracy and freedom in Myanmar is far from over, and the international community’s support is crucial in the ongoing struggle for a more just and inclusive society.\
