PESHAWAR: Anti-Corruption Raids Lead to Arrest of Medicine-Selling Gang
The Anti-Corruption Circle of the FIA apprehended six individuals for selling government-funded medicines in Peshawar. The gang, led by Yousuf Jan, included three hospital employees and was involved in embezzling medicines worth millions.
Raids on private hospitals in Peshawar resulted in the recovery of a significant amount of official medicines. The FIA stressed the importance of dismantling networks involved in the illegal sale of government-provided medicines.
In a separate crackdown in Islamabad, two individuals were arrested for selling fake and unregistered medicines. The suspects, including Mazhar Qeebbal, were caught in possession of counterfeit drugs being sold at high prices in the black market.
The FIA’s actions, in collaboration with DRAP officials, aimed to protect public health and safety from the threats posed by illicit drug sales. These operations signify a commitment to combating corruption and ensuring the availability of safe and regulated healthcare products.
