In a recent announcement by Artur Manukyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Armenia’s taxpayers will face administrative liability for providing incorrect information. The proposal includes penalties for inaccuracies in filling out information tables that are crucial for the tax authority’s analytical work, even if they do not directly impact tax calculations.
The new regulations aim to ensure that taxpayers in Armenia submit accurate and complete information, clarifying the scope of administrative offenses subject to inspection by customs and tax authorities. For first-time errors, a warning will be issued, followed by a fine of 10 thousand drams if the mistake is not corrected within one month. A second offense within 30 days will result in a 50 thousand dram fine.
Additionally, the bill suggests removing non-functional provisions from the Tax Code of Armenia to streamline processes and improve compliance. The Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly has approved the bill, signaling upcoming changes in administrative liability for taxpayers in the country.
