A South African delegation has urgently called on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to intervene and halt the genocidal actions being carried out by the Israeli entity in the Gaza Strip. The delegation emphasized that no justification exists for genocide, even under the guise of self-defense.
Appealing to the ICJ, the delegation highlighted the disturbing reality of civilians being displaced within the Strip and urged immediate action to provide aid and protect the lives of the people in Gaza.
The delegation condemned the impunity that has allowed Israel to perpetrate acts of genocide in Gaza, in clear violation of international decisions and norms. The ICJ is set to hold hearings on Thursday and Friday to address South Africa’s request for additional measures to address the ongoing genocide case against the Israeli occupation, particularly following recent aggression in Rafah.
