Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Attempted Assassination of Slovak Prime Minister
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the recent assassination attempt on the Slovak Prime Minister, Robert Fico, in a statement released on Wednesday. The ministry expressed solidarity with the government and people of Slovakia and denounced all forms of violence and destabilization attempts.
The assassination attempt occurred following a government meeting in Handlova, central Slovakia, where Fico was shot five times by the accused gunman. Despite the attack, Fico was seen on camera being helped into a car by his staff before being rushed to a nearby hospital and later flown to a trauma center for treatment.
The gunman, identified as a member of the Slovak Society of Writers and a former mall security guard, has left the country in shock. The Iraqi Foreign Ministry’s condemnation serves as a reminder of the importance of peace and security in today’s world.
