HD Kote’s Taluk Hospital Struggles with Water and Power Shortages

The taluk government hospital in HD Kote town, Mysuru district, is facing a critical shortage of water and power supply, leading to the denial of treatment to patients dependent on dialysis. A video circulating on social media captures a hospital staff member refusing treatment to a patient due to water scarcity, highlighting the dire situation at the hospital.

The State BJP criticized the Congress-led government for the neglect of government hospitals, specifically mentioning the lack of water and power at HD Kote hospital. District Health Officer Dr. Kumaraswamy attributed the issue to power disruptions caused by intense wind and rain, resulting in a halt to water pumping for days.

Despite the challenges, hospital staff are working diligently to care for patients, including those undergoing dialysis. The situation underscores the need for immediate action to address infrastructure and facility shortcomings in government hospitals to prevent further patient suffering.
