Milei Celebrates Inflation Figures Football-Style
Argentine President Javier Milei took to social media to celebrate the latest inflation figures revealed by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec). With the Consumer Price Index at 8.8% for April, Milei exclaimed, “GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL…!!!!,” in a football-fanatic manner. Presidential Spokesman Manuel Adorni declared that inflation had been defeated.
Congressman José Luis Espert also shared his optimism online, praising the government’s approach of maintaining a zero fiscal deficit and refraining from excessive money issuance. He credited Milei for helping Argentina avoid hyperinflation in the past four months.
Senator Francisco Paoltroni hailed the achievements of Milei’s economic team and emphasized the nation’s progress under the new administration. Milei expressed gratitude towards Economy Minister Luis ‘Toto’ Caputo for his contribution to this success.
Despite the positive developments, Milei acknowledged a possible delay in signing the May Pact due to the stalled progress of the Omnibus Law bill. However, he remained determined to implement structural reforms for Argentina’s economic recovery.
