The Islamabad High Court Approves Imran Khan’s Bail Application in Corruption Case
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted bail to PTI founder Imran Khan in a 190 million pound corruption case. The two-member bench, headed by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, approved the bail application after arguments from both the NAB prosecution team and Imran’s counsel, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa.
Imran was granted bail at Rs1 million, with the trial of the case expected to conclude soon. The case alleges that Imran and his wife Bushra Bibi obtained billions of rupees and land from Bahria Town Ltd to legalize funds identified by the UK during the previous PTI government. Several other suspects, including property tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain and his son, are also involved in the case.
Despite being in jail, Imran continues to maintain his innocence and insists that he has not provided any false information. The court proceedings are ongoing, with more updates to follow.
