Corruption in Armenia still persists despite efforts

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2024, acknowledged the progress made in fighting corruption in Armenia but emphasized the need to continue efforts to eliminate corruption completely. Despite significant strides, Pashinyan stressed the importance of persistency and democratic reforms to address the issue.

Highlighting Armenia’s cooperation with the European Union and the United States, Pashinyan expressed hope for increased support in democratic reforms. The premier noted the strategic dialogue with the US initiated in 2019 and emphasized the growing collaboration with the EU.

Pashinyan emphasized the humanitarian needs of displaced Armenian refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, urging for increased assistance from the US and the EU. He underlined the sensitive nature of the issue and the importance of addressing it on a humanitarian level.
