69% of Brits Want Gaza War to End

Recent survey results indicate that over two-thirds of British citizens are calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, with 69% of respondents expressing a desire for an end to Israel’s military campaign. This marks a significant increase in support for peace compared to previous months, with only 13% in favor of continuing the conflict.

The survey also showed that Britons are more likely to sympathize with the Palestinian side, with 29% leaning towards Palestinians and 16% towards Israelis. Additionally, a majority of 56% support a ban on arms sales to Israel, highlighting a disconnect between public opinion and government policies.

Ban on arms exports

Despite calls for a ceasefire and arms sales ban, UK leaders have largely supported Israel’s actions. The Labour party has called for humanitarian intervention and arms sales pause, while the Conservative government insists on continuing arms exports.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with thousands of Palestinians killed by the Israeli military. As the violence continues, public sentiments in the UK are pushing for peace and an end to arms sales that fuel the conflict.
