The 2nd Meeting of National Coordinators of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter Kicked Off in Caracas

The 2nd Meeting of National Coordinators of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter began on Monday in Caracas. Syria, represented by National Coordinator Ambassador Qusay al-Dahhak and UN Permanent Representative Kinan Zahreddine, participated in the event.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto, emphasized the group’s role in defending the UN Charter’s principles of sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, criticizing US policies of imposing coercive measures on countries.

Ambassador al-Dahhak expressed Syria’s solidarity with Venezuela and other group members in facing Western pressure. He highlighted the global challenges and violations of international law, stressing the need for support to improve humanitarian conditions and achieve sustainable development goals in Syria.
