A heinous crime has resulted in a 14-year sentence for a teenager who murdered a mother of two during a burglary. Justice Tom Sullivan deemed the crime particularly heinous, sentencing the teen to youth detention after considering his criminal history and vicious nature of the attack that led to Emma Lovell’s death.

The incident occurred during a home invasion where Emma and her husband were brutally attacked by the teen and his co-offender. The Lovell family’s two teenage daughters were present during the harrowing event.

Despite a troubled upbringing, the teen’s violent actions have left a devastating impact on the Lovell family and the community. The teen will serve at least 70% of the detention order with credit for time served in custody.
