Pensioners in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are fed up with the government’s lack of response to their demands for higher pensions. If their requests are not met by the end of the sixth month, they are prepared to take to the streets in front of the FBiH Government building in Sarajevo.
President of the Association of Pensioners ZDK, Mustafa Trakić, expressed his disappointment with the recent 6.55 percent increase in pensions, stating that it is not enough to cover basic living expenses.
The pensioners are now demanding an extraordinary increase in pensions, as well as changes to the Law on PiO to ensure regular and significant adjustments in the future. They are also asking for financial aid of 200 BAM for pensioners with lower incomes and 100 BAM for those with higher pensions.
The President of the FBiH Pensioners’ Association, Redžo Mehić, emphasized that the government needs to address the issue of low pensions in the face of rising living costs.
These demands will be discussed at a meeting of the Association of Associations of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming days.
