North Korea is bypassing international sanctions by importing electronics parts through China, using dollars or fraudulent bank accounts. Despite UN restrictions, the country continues to develop electronics by importing goods and parts, rendering the sanctions ineffective.
A source revealed that North Korea imports semiconductors for smartphones through Chinese companies in various provinces. The devices are sometimes identified with Chinese IMEI numbers and equipped with Taiwanese processors. Payments are made in dollars through unofficial channels to avoid detection.
Factory workers in North Korea are poorly treated, with long hours, low wages, and limited rest time. Despite these harsh conditions, electronics factories operate smoothly, prioritizing workers with technical skills. Workers receive no special benefits, but may receive gifts or bonuses based on monthly production targets.
