Military-political analyst Hamza Visca spoke at the regular session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals – Circle 99 about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s readiness to respond to security challenges. He highlighted the absence of a national or state security council in the country, emphasizing the need for a systemic response to hybrid warfare and the development of new state capacities.
Visca also addressed global challenges faced by BiH, including regional wars, migration, climate change, natural disasters, terrorism, and cyber attacks. He stressed the importance of recognizing information, combating social media abuse, and enhancing political action to safeguard the country against hybrid warfare.
Discussing internal challenges, Visca acknowledged the progress in defense reform and judiciary projects but expressed concern over the political landscape’s polarization and lack of focus on European integration.
In conclusion, Visca emphasized the urgency for BiH to transition from the Dayton phase to the Brussels phase, calling for responsible political leadership and collaborative efforts to tackle security challenges effectively.
