Following the October 7 attacks on Israel, tech giants like Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and IBM showed unwavering support for Israel, despite remaining silent on the atrocities committed against Palestinians. As the Israeli military, aided by AI programs, continued its genocidal actions, Big Tech in the US continued business as usual with Israel, investing billions and providing crucial technology.
Big Tech’s complicity in Israel’s occupation and surveillance of Palestinians is deeply concerning. Companies like Google and Amazon signed deals to provide cloud computing services for Israel, raising concerns about their involvement in human rights abuses. Additionally, Silicon Valley giants like IBM have a history of supporting apartheid regimes, including in Israel.
US tech companies have played a significant role in building Israel’s tech superiority, further entrenching the apartheid regime. Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have been accused of bias and censorship against Palestinians, perpetuating the suppression of pro-Palestine content.
The partnership between US Big Tech and Israel highlights the concept of digital colonialism, where American corporations profit from supporting oppressive regimes. Despite claiming to uphold human rights, these tech giants are complicit in Israeli crimes and must be held accountable for their actions.
