The Everest Record Breaker: A Legendary Climber’s 29th Ascent
Renowned climbing guide Kami Rita has achieved a monumental feat by reaching the summit of Mount Everest for the 29th time, setting a new record for the most ascents of the world’s highest peak. This achievement further cements his status as one of the greatest climbers in history.
Accompanied by fellow climbers, Kami Rita made the successful ascent and is reportedly in good health as he descends back to lower camps. His dedication to conquering Everest is unmatched, with two climbs just last year alone. He and fellow guide Pasang Dawa have been engaged in a friendly competition for the title of most ascents, with Pasang Dawa currently at 27.
Having started his Everest journey in 1994, Kami Rita’s experience and expertise as a Sherpa guide are crucial for the safety and success of climbers each year. In addition to Everest, he has conquered other formidable peaks like K2 and Cho Oyu.
With favorable weather conditions, climbers are making their way to the summit, and hundreds more are expected to attempt the feat this season. Nepalese authorities have issued permits to foreign climbers, with local Sherpa guides providing essential support.
