Tragic Bus Accident in Indonesia Leaves 11 Dead and Dozens Injured
A tragic bus accident in Indonesia’s West Java province has claimed the lives of at least 11 people, mostly students, and left dozens injured. The incident occurred when a bus carrying 61 students and teachers, returning from a graduation celebration, lost control on a downhill road and collided with cars and motorbikes before crashing into an electricity pole.
Nine individuals died at the scene, including a teacher and a local motorist, while two others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Fifty-three people were hospitalized, with some in critical condition. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by the bus’s malfunctioning brakes.
Road accidents are unfortunately common in Indonesia due to poor safety standards and infrastructure. This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of vehicle maintenance and road safety.
