The Israeli army occupied the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, closing off Palestinians’ only gateway to the world.

South Africa urgently requested additional measures from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) due to Israel’s attacks on Gaza and specifically in Rafah. The situation poses a severe risk to humanitarian supplies and the survival of Palestinians in Gaza.

South Africa accused Israel of genocide in Gaza and sought provisional measures to prevent a catastrophic famine. The urgent request comes after a rise in starvation-related deaths of children, prompting UN experts to warn of increasing fatalities if actions are not taken.

Genocide Case Update

Israel, facing trial for genocide, has intensified its attacks on Gaza, resulting in thousands of casualties and widespread displacement. The massacre has led to acute famine and a significant loss of life, primarily affecting women and children.
