South Africa’s presidency has called on the International Court of Justice for urgent action to protect Palestinians following an attack by the Israeli occupation forces in Rafah. The presidency emphasized the need for the international community to address the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and ensure access for humanitarian aid.
Specifically, South Africa urged the Israeli occupation to withdraw immediately from Rafah and halt military attacks. The International Court of Justice confirmed that South Africa has requested additional measures to address new developments in the case against Israel regarding the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in Gaza.
With mounting concerns over the situation, South Africa’s call for urgent intervention underscores the gravity of the crisis faced by Palestinians, highlighting the need for immediate action to protect human rights and ensure accountability.
