Prime Minister orders reconstruction of blown-up girls’ school in North Waziristan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken swift action after a private girls’ school in Tehsil Shewa of North Waziristan was blown up by unidentified militants. The attack resulted in the destruction of two rooms in the school building, following the torture of the school watchman.
Expressing strong condemnation for the attack, the Prime Minister has ordered authorities to quickly identify the perpetrators and ensure they face severe punishment. Additionally, he has directed the immediate reconstruction of the damaged portion of the school at the government’s expense.
In a statement, PM Shehbaz emphasized the government’s commitment to providing equal educational opportunities for all, especially girls, to empower them for the country’s development. This incident follows similar attacks last year on two government schools for girls in Mirali, further highlighting the ongoing challenges to girls’ education in the region.
The Prime Minister’s decisive actions showcase the government’s determination to counter terrorism and protect the right to education for all, underscoring the importance of ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for girls in Pakistan.
