Israel’s ongoing military assaults on Gaza have claimed the lives of around 300 Islamic scholars and sheiks, along with the destruction of over 500 mosques and three churches, including historic sites like the Al-Omari Mosque and the Church of Saint Porphyrius.

Despite these devastating losses, the Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs continues its work by providing hope and guidance to the community. Efforts include delivering sermons and messages of patience, reopening damaged mosques for prayers, and conducting Quran teaching sessions.

A ministry spokesperson condemned the targeting of scholars and religious facilities by Israel, calling it a deliberate attempt to undermine Palestinian faith. The spokesperson urged Islamic scholars and ministries worldwide to take action against the ongoing atrocities, emphasizing the protection of innocent civilians as a priority.

‘Remembering the Fallen Heroes’

Tragic stories like that of Professor Taiseer Ibrahim, a revered Sharia and Law expert, highlight the immense loss suffered by Gaza. Similarly, the deaths of Najeeba al-Da’alees, a woman imam, and Owni Own, a renowned Quran teacher, underscore the devastation caused by Israeli airstrikes.

Facing this relentless violence, the Palestinian community emphasizes the need for global solidarity and action to prevent further bloodshed. The world must not remain silent, but stand up against these injustices and protect innocent lives in Gaza.
