Bandits Terrorize Zamfara State, Nigeria
In a recent press release by the Zamfara State Police Command, terrorist bandits have carried out deadly attacks in two Local Government Areas, Maradun and Tsafe.
The attacks resulted in the death of a renowned Islamic cleric in Maradun, Mallam Makwashi Maradun Mai Jan-Baki, with two of his sons still missing. In Tsafe, the bandits raided Bilbis village, killing at least 20 people.
The continuous attacks have forced many villagers to flee their homes for safety in urban areas. In addition to violent acts, the bandits have resorted to imposing taxes on local farmers for financial gain.
Despite efforts by Nigerian security forces and politicians to combat the insurgents, there seems to be no end in sight to the banditry plaguing the region. The situation remains dire as more lives are lost and people are abducted.
