Iranian diplomat, Amir Saeed Iravani, voiced support for Palestine’s full UN membership, emphasizing the importance of implementing international obligations and restoring Palestinian rights. The UN General Assembly approved a resolution granting special rights to Palestine and urging the Security Council to review their application for UN membership.

Iravani highlighted Palestine’s commitment to peace and ability to meet UN Charter obligations, contrasting it with the Israeli regime’s repeated violations of international law and disregard for human life, as evidenced by recent reports of mass graves in Gaza.

Despite US obstructionism, the resolution received overwhelming support, underscoring growing global isolation for the US in its unwavering support for Israel. Iran called for the Security Council to reconsider Palestine’s membership in light of this vote, reaffirming the commitment to Palestinian self-determination.

Iran’s vote in favor of the resolution reflects solidarity with Palestine, with a focus on advocating for sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and maintaining a principled stance against the Israeli regime. The support aims to uphold Palestinian rights and establish an independent State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
