Netanyahu dismisses Biden’s weapon supply warning.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that Israelis are prepared to fight with everything they have, even their “fingernails”, in response to US President Joe Biden’s warning of withholding arms supplies over a planned operation in Gaza. Israel’s move against Rafah, where Hamas fighters are hiding among displaced Palestinians, began with evacuations and limited incursions this week.

The Biden administration has expressed concern over civilian safety in a major Rafah invasion while Israel believes victory is impossible without taking control of the area. Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s determination to stand alone if necessary, but also expressed hope for resolving differences with the US over the conflict.

The war cabinet members, including Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and former Defence Minister Benny Gantz, emphasized Israel’s resilience and determination to achieve security goals. Despite attempts at ceasefire negotiations, talks remain stalled, and Israel is proceeding with planned operations in Rafah.

Amidst the public dispute, the United States continues to provide support to Israel, while the Israeli military is prepared for further operations. The situation remains tense as Israel and Hamas remain at odds over the Gaza war.
