A one-year-old dog, Hong-min, who ran away from a convention in South Korea found its way back home after 41 days. The dog went missing on 24 March from a dog convention due to loud noises and barking. Despite a futile search, Hong-min returned home on 3 May, much to the joy of its owner, Yoon Jeong-sang.
Yoon, who owns 10 Jindo breed dogs, named Hong-min after the South Korean football player Son Heung-min. Jindo dogs, known for loyalty and intelligence, are valued as companion dogs with a good sense of direction. After Hong-min’s return, he was treated for ticks but showed no major injuries.
Yoon wasn’t surprised by Hong-min’s ability to find his way back, citing the dog’s intelligence even as a puppy. Now fully recovered, Hong-min is back to eating and playing, bringing happiness back to the household.
