Shipments to the Americas accounted for most of Paraguay’s sales abroad last month
Paraguay’s exports through the Single Export Window System reached US$ 2,790 million in the first four months of 2024, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase of US$ 380 million. In April alone, the country exported goods worth US$ 774 million, with major destinations being Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, India, and the United States.
The majority of shipments were directed towards the Americas, followed by Asia and Europe. The Export Single Window Consortium, comprising key players from the private sector, aims to enhance Paraguay’s export capabilities. Additionally, plans for a new terminal at AsunciĆ³n’s Silvio Pettirossi International Airport are being considered by authorities.
If approved, the new terminal project could take 3 to 4 years to complete and potentially accommodate modern aircraft, highlighting Paraguay’s commitment to further developing its export infrastructure.
