A 41-year-old man surrendered to Narellan Police Station soon after police shared images of nine individuals wanted for their involvement in last month’s riot. He has been charged with using violence, causing fear, and participating in an unlawful assembly. The man is set to appear in court in late June.
Fourteen other men have already faced charges related to the riot, leaving emergency workers injured and police vehicles damaged. Eight individuals are still wanted for their alleged involvement.
The riot stemmed from a video capturing the alleged stabbing of Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel at Christ The Good Shepherd Church. Subsequently, enraged worshipers gathered outside, causing chaos and injuring police and paramedics.
Investigations into the riot are ongoing, and anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
