The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced plans to allocate approximately $8.5 million to address the housing needs and provide psychosocial support for forcibly displaced persons and refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh. Erin McKee, Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia at USAID, shared this information during a press conference, emphasizing their commitment to supporting a democratic and prosperous Armenia.
McKee highlighted the ongoing collaboration between USAID and the government of Armenia to strengthen achievements in democracy, economic stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The allocation of over $65 million for new support, including initiatives in democracy, energy independence, food security, and economic integration, was also mentioned as part of the continued partnership.
Following the events in Nagorno-Karabakh, USAID’s focus on addressing housing needs and providing psychosocial support for displaced persons and refugees reflects their dedication to supporting those affected by the crisis.
