Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh Discusses Economic Reforms with IMF Delegation
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh recently met with the Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Mission to Jordan, Ron Van Roden, and the accompanying delegation to discuss the ongoing partnership between Jordan and the IMF.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the strong collaboration with the IMF, which has led to a new national economic reform program aimed at strengthening the economy and promoting growth. Under this program, Jordan will receive $1.2 billion over four years through the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
Khasawneh emphasized Jordan’s commitment to structural reforms and economic modernization, highlighting the success of the country on the international stage. He also praised the Central Bank of Jordan and the Ministry of Finance for their prudent financial policies that have shielded Jordan from economic shocks.
The IMF delegation commended Jordan’s economic resilience and stability, pointing out the government’s efforts to improve revenue generation and combat tax evasion. They also lauded Jordan’s macroeconomic achievements and pledged continued support and expertise from the IMF.
