In a fiery speech at an election rally in Arambagh, West Bengal, Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP of buying votes for the upcoming elections. She claimed that the saffron party is offering money ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 to sway voters.
Banerjee also criticized the BJP, labeling their leaders as former CPI(M) ‘harmads’ and warning voters against a potential reign of terror under their rule. She emphasized the need to alter the power equation in Delhi and bring about change in the upcoming elections.
The TMC supremo further lambasted the BJP for defaming the people of Bengal, citing instances of false rape allegations and job cuts. She expressed relief over the recent Supreme Court verdict that saved 26,000 teaching jobs in the state.
Warning against re-electing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Banerjee alleged that his government would drive away marginalized communities and pose an existential crisis for minorities, adivasis, and OBCs. She urged voters to safeguard democracy by preventing Modi from winning a second term.
