The 35th Tehran International Book Fair kicked off in Tehran, with Syria and publishing houses from various nations participating. The event, themed “Let’s read and build,” features over 2,600 publishing houses and nearly 70 Iranian government institutions. Yaser Ahmadvand, the fair’s chairman, announced the offering of 50,000 foreign book titles from 60 foreign publishers, marking a significant milestone for the development of the book industry and reading culture in Iran.
Scheduled from May 8th to May 18th, 2024, at the Grand Mosalla mosque of Tehran, the fair aims to bridge the gap between physical and virtual presence of publishers, highlighting the importance of books and reading in the country.
