According to Zoltan Kovacs, Hungary’s Secretary of State for International Communication, Hungarian companies are on the brink of finalizing local investments in Uzbekistan, including a pharmaceutical plant and a $165 million poultry processing facility. Additionally, the Uzbek government is creating a special investment area for Hungarian businesses, signaling a commitment to fostering collaboration.
Further strengthening ties between the two nations, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences is working closely with local institutions in Uzbekistan. This partnership aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and skill development in various sectors.
Recently, the Uzbek-Hungarian Business Forum brought together over 200 business representatives, government officials, and experts to explore new avenues for cooperation. The event, held within the framework of the IX meeting of the Uzbek-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, saw fruitful discussions on joint projects and trade expansion.
Notable attendees at the forum included Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade in Uzbekistan, and Peter Szijjarto, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
