An oil depot in occupied Luhansk was struck by ATACMS missiles, causing a mass fire at the facility, as claimed by the Moscow-installed head of the occupied region, Leonid Pasechnik. The incident resulted in at least five employees being injured and hospitalized.
Pasechnik announced the attack on Telegram, stating that emergency response teams were working to contain the fire. The aftermath included power outages, damaged power lines, and a high-pressure gas pipeline catching fire.
Reports suggest that the strike was carried out with ATACMS missiles, but Ukrainian officials have not provided any comments on the claims. The incident highlights the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with attacks occurring in both countries and the territories occupied by Moscow.
In a separate event in October 2023, Ukraine reportedly used ATACMS missiles to target military airfields in Berdiansk and Luhansk, destroying helicopters. Other Russian targets in the region were also hit with missiles provided by the U.S. and the U.K.
