Russian Government Resigns Following Putin’s Inauguration

On the eve of his inauguration, President Putin met with the government to review their work. The resignation marked by Prime Minister Mishustin demonstrates the 18th such ceremony since 1990, with significant global events shaping his tenure, from the COVID-19 crisis to economic challenges.
In a meeting on Monday, Putin praised Mishustin’s dedication and professionalism in their duties. The resignation follows constitutional protocols for new government formation post-inauguration.
Additionally, as per Russian law, the Duma may approve a new prime minister as early as Wednesday, providing continuity in governance.
