The 5th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention kicked off in Cairo on Tuesday, bringing together ministers and officials dedicated to fighting corruption in Arab League member states, along with representatives from international and regional organizations.

Organized by the Arab League in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), this conference aims to establish a framework for collecting, monitoring, and analyzing integrity indicators used in public sector processes within Arab Anti-Corruption Convention member states.

Leading the Moroccan delegation at this significant event is Mohamed Bachir Rachdi, the President of the National Authority for Probity, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC). The delegation also includes representatives from key Moroccan ministries and agencies, such as the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, the Ministry of Justice, the Kingdom’s Judicial Agency, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Attendees will engage in discussions on enhancing anti-corruption efforts in the Arab region, fostering cooperation, sharing information on corruption trends, and implementing preventative measures to combat corruption effectively. The exchange of expertise and experiences will be crucial in strengthening the collective fight against this pervasive issue.

The Arab Anti-Corruption Convention, established on December 21, 2010, aims to bolster collaboration among member states to reinforce mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption in all its manifestations. Upholding principles of integrity, transparency, accountability, and the rule of law is paramount to the Convention’s objectives.
