Bengaluru: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge recently visited the veteran politician and former chief minister S M Krishna, who is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. Kharge expressed his well-wishes for Krishna’s speedy recovery during the visit.
According to the hospital where the 91-year-old leader was admitted last week, he is being treated for a minor ailment and is currently in stable condition. A team of medical experts is overseeing his recovery, and there is no cause for concern, as stated by Manipal Hospitals.
“S M Krishna is a respected former chief minister with whom I have had the privilege of working both at the state and central level. I visited him upon learning about his health condition to offer my support and prayers for his quick recuperation,” Kharge shared with reporters following his visit.
Kharge further added, “He is showing signs of improvement, engaging in conversation and displaying his resilience. Given his disciplined lifestyle, both mentally and physically, I am confident in his swift recovery. The medical team is providing excellent care.”
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also paid a visit to Krishna at the hospital yesterday to inquire about his well-being.
Earlier this month, Krishna was admitted to another super-specialty hospital in Bengaluru due to an acute respiratory infection. After receiving treatment, he was discharged and is now under observation at the current hospital.
During his political career, Krishna served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka from October 11, 1999, to May 28, 2004. He later held the position of External Affairs Minister during the Manmohan Singh-led United Progressive Alliance government from 2009 to 2012, and also served as the Governor of Maharashtra.
