Iran urges Islamic universities to back Palestinian rights

As the crisis in Palestine continues to escalate, Abdolhosein Khosropanah has issued a powerful message to universities across the Islamic world, emphasizing the critical importance of upholding human rights and dignity in the face of such atrocities.

It is the responsibility of all who value freedom, including individuals, organizations, international bodies, and academic leaders, to protect Human Rights and Human Dignity, as outlined in the International Bill of Human Rights by the UN. Unfortunately, Palestine has become a symbol of genocide and human rights violations, underlined by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

For over fifty years, the Palestinian people have suffered oppression at the hands of superpowers, particularly global Zionism. The current situation in Gaza, with limited essential resources, highlights the importance of solidarity and activism from students, professors, and intellectuals in supporting the oppressed.

The global outcry against oppression in universities such as Harvard, Indiana, Columbia, and Yale shows a growing moral conscience that refuses to ignore the suffering of a persecuted minority. The dawn of victory is in sight, and it is crucial for academic leaders and university presidents to condemn the war crimes and atrocities in Gaza.

We must advocate for peace and the restoration of the rights of oppressed Palestinians, utilizing diplomatic channels to challenge the Zionist regime and amplify the message of the “Al-Aqsa Storm.” It is essential to sever all ties between scientific and academic institutions and the Zionist regime, while establishing a global coalition to support the Palestinians and rebuild Gaza.

The actions of academic elites and university presidents will be scrutinized by history, so it is crucial to establish an assembly dedicated to promoting peace and democracy in Palestine. By working together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those suffering in Gaza and ensure a brighter future for all.
