There are about 2,700 schools affiliated with the CISCE board in India, while there are more than 27,000 CBSE schools. The number of students studying from the CBSE board is high. The CBSE network covers all Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, most government schools and many private schools. CISCE is a private board, whose focus is mostly only on the English language.

The schools affiliated with CISCE are rarely found in rural areas. It is easier to prepare for admission to a foreign university by studying in an ICSE school. CBSE schools teach in Hindi and English languages while ICSE schools focus on the English language as a medium for education.

Students preparing for competitive exams like JEE and NEET in future can give priority to the CBSE board. The syllabus of NEET, CUET and JEE exams is based on CBSE. At the same time, the syllabus of the ICSE board focuses on the quality of education. ICSE board syllabus is considered to be more useful in the long run.

The fees of schools affiliated with the CISCE board are higher. All these are private schools and the government does not have much control over their expenses. At the same time, there are both government and private schools on the CBSE board. It should also be noted that the fees also depend on factors like city, location and level of reputation of the school.
