Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has strongly condemned the actions of the Chinese military that put Australian defense personnel at risk in international airspace. The incident occurred during an operation to enforce United Nations sanctions on North Korea.
On Monday, Australia reported that a Chinese fighter jet endangered an Australian military helicopter in an unsafe confrontation over the Yellow Sea. The Chinese Air Force J-10 jet dropped flares above and ahead of an Australian MH60R Seahawk helicopter during a routine flight as part of the operation to enforce sanctions against North Korea, according to Defense Minister Richard Marles.
Albanese expressed his concerns and emphasized that such actions by the Chinese military are unacceptable and put lives at risk. The safety of Australian defense personnel is of utmost importance, and any such incidents will not be tolerated.
