Queen Rania Al Abdullah Urges International Community to Take Action on Gaza Crisis

In a recent interview on CBS’s ‘Face the Nation’ in New York, Queen Rania Al Abdullah raised alarm about the ongoing crisis in Gaza, calling on the international community to use political leverage to compel Israel to end the war and allow aid into the region.

Queen Rania expressed concern that the world’s failure to prevent Israeli atrocities in Gaza is setting a dangerous precedent for global order. She emphasized the need for accountability and adherence to international law and UN resolutions to prevent such tragedies.

Despite criticism from some of Israel’s allies, including the US, Queen Rania noted that decisive action is needed to hold Israel accountable for its actions. She highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where nearly 35,000 Palestinians have died, including a high percentage of women and children, and 1.7 million people have been displaced.

Queen Rania called for immediate aid to Gaza to prevent a mass famine and urged the international community to prevent a full-scale invasion of Rafah, which would further devastate the region. She also emphasized the need to address the dehumanization of Palestinians in Israeli society and the importance of standing up for human rights and international law.

While condemning antisemitism, Queen Rania emphasized the distinction between criticizing Israel’s actions and antisemitism, urging Muslims to fight against all forms of bigotry. She warned of the long-term impact of the Gaza war, noting the potential for radicalization among younger generations.

Queen Rania stressed the importance of choosing tolerance, compromise, and reconciliation over violence and revenge, emphasizing that peace must be pursued through a holistic approach that considers the well-being of all involved.

As the crisis in Gaza continues to unfold, Queen Rania’s call for action serves as a reminder of the urgent need for international cooperation and accountability in addressing conflicts and humanitarian crises around the world.
