Earlier today, the streets of Dublin city centre were filled with a large crowd participating in an anti-immigration march. The protesters, starting from the Garden of Remembrance, made their way along O’Connell Street. Here, a noticeable garda presence, including officers from the Public Order Unit, ensured the safety and order of the demonstration.
As the marchers passed by the GPO, they encountered a smaller pro-Palestine group. Both groups engaged in chants, separated only by vigilant gardaĆ positioned in between them.
Continuing their demonstration, the anti-immigration march culminated at Customs House Quay for a rally that lasted until late afternoon. The atmosphere at the rally was charged with calls to “get them out, get them out”, directed at the Government, as well as criticism of opposing political parties.
Various speakers, including candidates for the upcoming local and European elections, addressed the crowd at the rally, sharing their thoughts and rallying support for their cause.
