Pyongan Province Inspects Farms for Production Materials

North Korean authorities recently conducted a thorough inspection of farms in South Pyongan Province that supply raw materials to local factories. The inspection lasted for two weeks, aiming to assess the performance of these key bases critical for the province’s industrial development.

According to a source in the province, the Workers’ Party of Korea’s provincial committee initiated the inspection on April 2. The committee highlighted the importance of effective land management at these bases to support the party’s regional development policy.

Emphasizing the need to enhance output by optimizing crop placement, the committee also addressed issues such as unauthorized planting and labor shortage. It urged the bases to prioritize self-reliance in acquiring farming materials, machinery, and parts.

The provincial party committee warned against violations of regional development policies, such as allowing private use of public land, and urged strict adherence to party rules and principles for the year.

Prior to the inspection, some officials reportedly prepared cash and gifts for the committee members, anticipating criticism. The overall goal of the inspection was to ensure that these raw material bases contribute effectively to the province’s industrial growth.
