Driving safely on the roads is a crucial aspect of everyday life. It ensures the well-being of all road users, reduces accidents, and saves lives. This is why the Public Security Directorate (PSD) in Jordan is taking the enforcement of the new traffic law very seriously.

Interior Minister Mazen Karayah emphasized the need for a firm and fair application of the law to establish a culture of compliance. “With awareness, we arrive safe” is the theme of World Traffic Day, highlighting the importance of infrastructure development, training programs for personnel, and legislative updates.

Road safety is a collaborative effort involving various ministries, government bodies, businesses, and the public. The establishment of the Higher Council for Road Safety signals the country’s commitment to creating a safer road environment.

According to Brig. Gen. Salem Shamasin, the Assistant Director for Traffic and Foreigners Affairs at the PSD, the enforcement of the new Traffic Law aims to address negative behaviors and violations that put lives and property at risk. It is essential to raise awareness about traffic safety and forge partnerships with different organizations to ensure the well-being of all road users.

During a recent ceremony, the Interior Minister recognized several institutions and individuals for their contributions to road safety. This includes those with exemplary driving records, whether in the military or civilian sector.

It is clear that ensuring road safety is a national priority. By working together and adhering to traffic laws, we can create a safer environment for everyone on the road.
