Lebanese TikTok Star and Gang Arrested for Child Abuse

Lebanon has been left reeling by the recent bust of a drug and child molestation gang, headed by a well-known Lebanese TikToker. This shocking case has gripped the nation and sparked outrage among the public.

The leader of the gang, Georges Moubayed, is a prominent barber based in the Sabtyieh neighborhood near Beirut. Reports have revealed that at least eight other suspects, including minors who are also popular TikTokers, have been apprehended.

According to MTV, Moubayed was exposed by another famous TikToker who was taken into custody just hours before. The gang consists of around 30 members, and disturbingly, 30 children have fallen victim to their heinous crimes, although only eight sets of parents have come forward to file complaints.

The gang’s modus operandi involved using social media to lure children, with ten members engaging with victims online before orchestrating their assaults at various locations. Moubayed, leveraging his social media fame, enticed kids to his barbershop under the pretense of featuring in videos, only to then subject them to sexual assaults at parties in secluded chalets.

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces, in collaboration with the Union for the Protection of Juveniles in Lebanon, took swift action following a complaint lodged against Moubayed. The ISF statement highlighted that children were not only molested but also coerced into consuming drugs at hotels.

Reports indicate that the gang even recruited teenagers from outside Lebanon to help lure unsuspecting minors via TikTok. Victims, including those as young as 16, were targeted through deceptive promises and fake accounts, before being assaulted, filmed, and blackmailed into silence.

So far, six individuals have been arrested, with investigations ongoing to identify and apprehend all members of this disturbing gang. The authorities are unwavering in their efforts to bring justice to the victims and hold the culprits accountable for their reprehensible actions.
