The navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has achieved a significant milestone by completing its first long-distance mission with the Shahid Mahdavi ocean liner. The vessel crossed Earth’s equator and entered the southern hemisphere, marking a historic moment for the Iranian navy.

The Shahid Mahdavi, a 36,000-ton, 240-meter-long, 27-meter-wide commercial cargo conversion, is equipped with advanced weapons systems, Iranian-made radar, and defense electronics. It is the first Iranian ship to be armed with long-range ballistic missiles, enhancing Iran’s maritime capabilities.
