and American Jack Carter Rhoad have been missing since April 27 after they failed to return from a camping trip in the area.

Officials are waiting for DNA results, and the parents of the Robinson brothers are on their way to Mexico from Perth.

“I’m saying it’s a very, very high probability that it is them,” Baja California’s chief prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez told 9News.

“They were in a state of decomposition. That is why we have to run the genetic tests,” Ramírez said.

Meanwhile, one of the three Mexican people arrested in connection to the trio’s disappearance has been named as 23-year-old Ari Gase. She was found in possession of one of the missing men’s mobile phones.

The investigation took a turn when the missing man’s phone was turned on, allowing authorities to track down one of the suspects. Surfers in the area have reported increased cartel activity, shedding light on the dangers of the region.

Reports indicate that the bodies were discovered on a cliff near the campsite, with one body found deeper in a well. The search team believes this is the last place the men were seen.

9News journalist Alison Piotrowski visited the site, describing the surrounding terrain as hazardous, with a significant police and army presence. Three abandoned tents and remnants of a campfire were also found at the scene.

Mexican authorities have promised to update the media after transporting the bodies back to town. The families of the missing men await closure as the investigation unfolds.
